George and Susan Redpath, owners. George and Susan are both runners; George is foremost a longtime cyclist (and former bike travel company owner) who also ran track in his earlier days. George got converted to marathon running last year. Susan is a lifelong recreational runner, preferring 5K and 10K distances and competition until a few years ago when she too got converted to marathon running. Both enjoy trail running when time permits, having been spoiled previously by the proliferation of maintained trails in CA. Now nine-year residents of Kailua, they also enjoy the myriad of outdoor sports that Hawaii’s climate invites. ![]() Rob Seaver A self-professed "late-bloomer", Rob came to the sport of running late in life through the sport of triathlon. He started with a small sprint race and never looked back, having recently finishing his 8th Ironman. He enjoys talking story about racing, training and nutrition. If you don’t see him in the store, look for him at the beach or on the road (either on foot or two-wheels). Kama Shockey Running for her has been a lifestyle choice since pre-high school when her parents highly encouraged her to run her first 10K. Since then, she has been competing mostly for fun off and on her whole life. Her family (commonly known as the Fabulous Flock of Fitness Fanatics Racing Team) are all runners as well, from her husband to her parents to her siblings and their spouses. Kama has completed one marathon, three halves and countless 10 and 5Ks but has plans to do many more, including and up to a few ultras, all with her daughter Isabel in the stroller and husband beside her. Alex Bocchieri Growing up on the rolling hills of the San Francisco Bay area, Alex developed a knack for running at a very young age. In high school he excelled in both Cross-Country and Track, earning him the opportunity to run in the highly competitive California State Championships. After graduating high school he moved to Kailua, HI to further his education and be with his family. The years of competitive running and living in a health conscience environment have provided Alex with valuable information that he will eagerly share with you. Whether you need shoes, apparel, or nutrition, he has the knowledge to assist you with any fitness need. Erin MartinezFor the majority of Erin’s life, she’s been competitive in sports. Growing up it was gymnastics, then tennis, then cheerleading. After cheering collegiately for North Carolina State University with a National Championship in 2001, she needed to find another outlet for her competitiveness. She started running, did several 5Ks and after her first half marathon in 2003, she was hooked. In 2005 she moved to Hawaii, and has since run two marathons and found Hawaii as the perfect place to ‘try a tri’. Erin recently became certified as an ACE fitness instructor and is looking forward to adding a Personal Training option to the Running For Women group in the near future. Erin and her husband just welcomed a new runner to the community- their son, Quade, was born in January 2010. Katie has enjoyed the sport of running as early as she can remember. She began competing in elementary school all the way up to the collegiate level and received an athletic scholarship for the sport of track and field. She began as a sprinter but her coach insisted she condition by running cross country, so learned to embrace the distance. After an injury she stayed active by biking and swimming, which got her interested in sprint triathlons. In 2002 while visiting Hawaii, she competed in her first triathlon and fell in love with Hawaii and the sport. Katie received a B.A. in Health and Wellness and is studying Massage Therapy. Her passions include everything athletics and she is very interested in injury and disease prevention. She enjoys working with others to achieve their overall wellness goals and is also a coach for the Running for Women group at Kailua Running Company. Jake CrockerOriginally from Texas, Jake immersed himself in football and ice hockey throughout high school. After coming to Hawaii with the Marine Corps, he got involved with Kailua Running Company but still plays ice hockey. Intrigued by Kailua's active community, Jake was compelled to train for some great races like the XTERRA World Half Marathon and Susan Komen Race for the Cure. Between work and school, you can find him on his mountain bike throughout various trails on Oahu. Kirsten Swanson For as long as she can remember, Kirsten has been athletic, starting with soccer as a kid to swimming, playing water polo and running in high school. After competing in her first sprint triathlon at the age of 14, she fell in love with the sport, competing in countless sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, two World Championships, one marathon and two half Ironmans before taking a three year break to attend the University of Arizona. Kirsten is now back on the island studying excercise science at KCC and UH and slowly but surely getting back into the triathlon scene.
